The Public Library Association has released their 2024 Early Literacy Activities Calendar.
Based on the Every Child Ready To Read practices of reading, writing, singing, talking, playing and counting, each month contains daily learning activities. There are also supplementary content such as nursery ryhmes, early literacy tips, song lyrics, or suggested reading material.
This is all to help parents teach kids the value, and hopefully joy, in reading. Whether they become huge bookworms, or simply use it for communication, every child needs develop an appreciation of the written word.
